This webinar intensive series is a four-week beginner course specifically focused on medicinal plants for herbalists. Starting with parts of a flower, leaves, and roots, we’ll then cover some important medicinal plant families with their unique characteristics. Students will practice keying out and using online floras, tools, books, and other online sources to help with identifying plants. We recommend viewing these classes on a large screen, and purchasing Plant Identification Terminology: An Illustrated Glossary, as well as a 10x loupe/lens.

Instructor Bio: Robyn’s herbal education includes the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine (1995). After completing a MSc degree in plant sciences (2004), and as an adjunct instructor at Montana State University, she teaches plant identification and ethnobotany to K-12 teachers. Her gardens are a mix of native, Chinese, and European medicinal species, and the odd carrot.
