Description: Cannabis has been used for thousands of years for a multitude of issues. This presentation will discuss the history of cannabis, reasons it was removed from the Pharmacopeia and made illegal, components of the cannabis and hemp plants and how they work synergistically to interact with our endocannabinoid system to promote homeostasis, potential benefits, and risks. 

Bio: Dr. O is a clinical pharmacist and professor of medical cannabis science at John Patrick University School of Integrative and Functional Medicine. She is the author of A Pharmacist’s Guide to Cannabis” and hosts the podcast Let’s Talk Plant Medicine: Cannabis, Psychedelics, and Pharmaceutics.” She is a global public speaker and has spoken at events such as Global Cannabis Intelligence (GCI), American Cannabis Nurses Association, Women in Plant Medicine, and more.


Mushroom Medicine: Latest News, Product Controversies, and Uses with Christopher Hobbs 

Description: A thorough review of the science (including clinical trials) and traditional uses of the most widely-researched medicinal mushrooms (especially turkey tail, shiitake, cordyceps, lion's mane, and chaga), based on many years of ongoing clinical practice and scientific investigation, will be presented. Learn how to both make mushroom extracts and also choose the best commercial products. Current experience in integrative oncology will be shared, with case reports, effective use, and expected outcomes. We will discuss recent controversies such as mycelium vs. fruiting body and the use of the word "mushroom."
